Dear professionals, my dear friends!

Ritz Tibor  2006.02.28. 18:44
This is not an ordinary day (2006. 03. 03), 10 years has passed since I or we begen to deal with something. An unbelievable great adventure. The target was then to make a trade approved and to produce the possibility to provide the basic knowledge necessary for its practise on a professional level. Perhaps we could not always select the appropriate means for this target and our decisions have not been the wisest ones at all cross-roads, but we have always seen this target before our eyes. During this past decade, in the heroic work, in the continuous misunderstanding, under the pressure of imagined or real conflicting interests, in the fight with ever newer obstacles towering in front of us, friendships and good connections were spoilt, but also new friendships were born. These latter meant always enough energy for the great project to survive. He who was a witness or a victim to this 10-year-long misery can certainly appreciate, WHERE WE STAND NOW. And he who is no insider to it, will see a big centre where you can try all kinds of cleaning techniques for any kind of covers. He will see a space fit for community life, where the trade can „live”. He will see a place where you can learn, making experiments, search and, last but not least, celebrate. This is a unique opportunity and not only for Hungary, but also for the whole region. Today we will change ideas here and will also celebrate, perhaps we can say that this battle has been won: cleaning became an approved trade and there is a place where those who want to look at it as their profession can be trained and their skills can be developed. I wouldn’t say that all is perfect what we created during this last 5 months, as such a work cannot be perhaps ever finished, but I am convinced that all efforts spent so far and all the money spent for it during the last 10 years have gone to the right place. Many thanks for all who participated in this work. Thanks to those who realised already a decade ago that something is needed, something that takes us fore, thanks for those who, sparing no money, time and energy, helped us tirelessly so that we would not stop. BUT, thanks to those, too, who obstructed us wittingly and tripped us up, because it was THEY who inspired us to even greater efforts. AND thanks to also those who, although joined us only at the last moment, but with their supportive behaviour we can consider them comrades in the fight. Please, enjoy the opportunities offered to you by the EUROPEAN CLEANING COMPETENCE CENTRE

To manufacturers or distributors of cleaning devices and chemicals!

Ritz Tibor  2006.02.17. 06:26
It is a unique opportunity for you to advertise your products at the IInd Cleaner Ball. This year the lottery that had a great success last year will be on show again. Last time a treasure of cleaning devices, sweets and fine drinks in a sum of almost 400,000,- HUF found its lucky owners. This year we want an even bigger bang, as the number of participants in the ball will be twice as high according prognoses so far. This will be a really great event, because we became a TRADE at last. It goes without saying, the whole series of events (opening of European Cleaning Competence Centre, VIIth CEM, the IInd BALL, and the next day the practical examination demonstration based on real competence, i.e. the practical examination of 2006 graduates of MASTER of Cleaning) can be taken in a complex aspect, too. All sponsoring is taken with thanks. In case you have an offer to us, please, call Ritz Tibor (0036-70-317-5641).

Guidance note on European HR trends

FedEE  2006.02.16. 12:23
Overall labour productivity in the EU15 (the 15 non-accession countries of the European Union) has been greater than that in either the USA or Japan over the period 1994-2003. Gross domestic product at purchasing power standards (PPS) shows that productivity relative to the EU15 fell by 9% in the USA and by 17% in Japan over the last decade. Over the same period, labour productivity per hour worked (again at PPS) fell by 1% in the USA and by almost 3% in Japan relative to the EU15. The EU15 countries spend a higher proportion of their GDP on education than the USA and Japan. Leading EU countries such as France (19.6%) and the UK (16.2%) have a much higher proportion of university graduates in science and technology in the 20-29 year old population than the USA (9.6%) and Japan (12.6%). A measure of the success of EU15 employers in maintaining labour costs in line with productivity can be found in the fact that unit labour costs have fallen by 0.4% in real terms over the last decade. However, one policy concern that has not been resolved is the gender pay gap. The difference between the average gross hourly earnings of men and women in the EU15 countries has remained at 16% since 1994. In the EU15, the proportion of adults aged 25 to 64 who receive education and training each month has almost doubled since figures first became available in 1996. Lifelong learning is particularly strong in Scandinavia, the Netherlands and the UK. EU15 employers have also been successful in the retention of older workers, with Ireland, the Netherlands and Finland being the three best-performing countries.

A train of thought instead of TUTI TIPP (sure tip)

Ritz Tibor  2006.02.14. 08:50
Honoured Mr. Ritz Tibor, I am R. A., my practice in cleaning is only 3 years. Thank to God, I managed to be awarded with a job, where there are a lot of parquet and ceramic tile surfaces. A certain problem occurred (already not first time) when a kind of veil remains on the surfaces that can only be removed by wet wiping repeated at least 6 times. I need a very long time for this method. I bought various chemicals labelled veil remover, but they didn’t work. I should like to ask for your help, how is this phenomenon to be ended, what kind of product should I buy to do my work. Your help is appreciated in advance. Regards: R. A. Honoured Mr. R. A, the formulation of your question lets me guess that the contamination in question that you would like to remove quickly and effectively with some product can be solved by clean water, let me say, e.g. that it is the remnant of a wall paint of the „dispersite” kind. In this case, if we speak about floor surfaces (guessed from wet wiping) the optimum solution would be the boosting of the mechanical effect, i.e. by the use of a scrubber-dryer or single-disc machine and wet vacuum cleaner, as well as ample water (with a tool selected for the cover, i.e. brush or pad), but if it is a wall surface there are special machines corresponding to the above mentioned ones. At first I suggest, if not definitely necessary, you should not use chemicals. This is important from financial, time and environment aspects. Although it is not clear from your description what this veil is like exactly, there can be certain cases where an acidic stripping is justified. In the specific case if the veil is based on lime or cement you should look for an acidic stripper product. There is another significant aspect beside suitability of the cleaning chemical, namely, have principles of technological discipline been observed during acidic stripping (dilution, scrubbing, effect time, removal, neutralisation, etc.). In this respect I can say that acidic strippers from most manufacturers suit for the job, what needs a high level of awareness is the price distributors offer them to you. Besides, there might be need for alkaline stripper products, too, during cleaning of building sites, as well as for some cleaning product with solvent, depending on what substances remained on the surface. Of course, beside all these, there can be covers that are sensitive to acids or water. For the latter a good example is parquets you mentioned in your question (that can be natural, coated with wax, lacquered, etc.), in this case, however, the main point is prevention and protection, because however careful we are, additional risks mean a serious menace. I hope, I could be somewhat helpful, but the true solution for you would be in my opinion to get through a training course for cleaners, there you can pick up the basics of the profession that can help you in drawing right conclusions. It is very much significant, as, because of variables (contamination, surface) all cases are different. Regards!

INVITATION!!!

Bogdán Tibor  2006.02.07. 11:31
Ladies and Gentlemen! It is a little more than one year ago that the Building Cleaner Trade Department was created and this year has been very rich in programs. In 2005 as the Year of Professional Cleaner we started a kind of work that has brought us to the first concrete result. During the VIIth CEM (Central European Meeting) event the European Cleaning Competence Centre will be opened. After the conferences for professionals the institution will be inaugurated via a Ball of Cleaners. The next day we are going to demonstrate the unique opportunities of the Competence Centre by the Master of Cleaning examination. All these programs will take place on March 3 and 4 2006, from 11 a.m. Place: Budapest, Vaslemez u. 7, XVIIIth District of the capital. The Ball of Cleaners will start at the same place at 7.00 p.m. Fee for the professional program: 3.000,- Ft, with ball entrance ticket 12.500,- Ft per head. A discount of 25% is given to members of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Payment by cheque sent to applicants after returning the attached Application Form. Deadline for applying: February 23. The detailed program of conference is also attached, any further info is to be seen at the home page www.takarít.gportal.hu or www.bkik.hu (Handworker Section, Kézműipari Tagozat). You honouring presence would be appreciated, we are awaiting your form.Best regards: Bogdán Tibor, Chairman of Building Cleaner Trade Department.

That will be the DAY

Ritz Tibor  2006.02.01. 06:38
Roughly in a month, on Friday, March 3, will be the day when we will hand over the investment that can change the Hungarian Cleaning Industry down to its roots. During the two-day international event VIIth CEM (Central European Meeting) we not only hand over the EUROPEAN CLEANING COMPETENCE CENTRE, but will give answers – via invited professionals of international and Hungarian institutions (government, Chamber and civil organisations, as well as market leading education companies) – to some hot questions. Moreover, in the MASTER of CLEANING examination on Saturday, March 4, we will also demonstrate in practice the fantastic opportunities of the object that is unique in Hungary at present. The work began with the YEAR of the PROFESSIONAL CLEANER IN 2005 has reached its first zenith up to now: there will be such a place, where it will be possible to examine objectively the practical skills of the cleaner, to test devices and to try new possibilities. And the conference on Friday will give answers on such hot questions as:

Already in the Northern-Transdanubium too ...

Ritz Tibor  2006.01.31. 10:43
On January 23rd and 24th the first 23 cleaners’ examination took place already also in Győr under the supervision of OM (Ministry of Education) and NSZI (National Institute of Vocational Education), as well as the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with an average score of 4.3 (from 5). Financial The training course was covered financially from the normative system and it was organised by ADU Training Centre and MARCLEAN KFT under the professional supervision and execution of KonfirMATISZ KFT. The program will not stop here – as MARCLEAN manager Péter Maros informed our newspaper, soon the next course starts. At the same time the shaping of GYŐR COMPETENC CENTRE has started that will become, we hope, an official practical examination centre too after the consideration of NSZI and, as such, will also belong to the NETWORK of EUROPEAN COMPETENCE CENTRES. It is probable that this opportunity will give a push to the trade also in this region.

First Session of Examining Commissioners delegated by Regional Chambers of MKIK (Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry)

Bogdán Tibor  2006.01.28. 07:59
Venue: 1184 Budapest, Vaslemez u. 7., EUROPEAN CLEANING COMPETENCE CENTRE for Cleaning. Time: 2006. 02. 9., 11 a.m. Aim of the session: To define uniform themes advised by MKIK on national level for the practical examination in the trade accepted recently in OKJ, as well as to lay down the trade-specific examination directives of delegates from the Chamber. Most important questions: Role of Regional Chambers of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the trade examination. What should be the minimum set of cleaning and treating products and devices needed at the exam? What directives should be applied to avoid domination of makes? What can the delegate of the Chamber do at the OKJ examination in order to protect the prestige of trade? If you are a cleaning professional and feel it necessary to take part in this program and should like to join the TRADE EXAMINATION DEVELOPMENT Project, you should call at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in your region without delay.

Minimum wage in 2006, 2007 and 2008,

Ritz Tibor  2006.01.27. 08:17
Employers, employees and representatives of the government got to agreement in the OÉT (National Arbitration Council): minimum wage will be 62,500 HUF in the next year, 65,500 HUF in 2007 and 69,000 HUF in 2008. According to this agreement a wage minimum will be introduced also with skilled workers that will be proportional to the current minimum wage. Its multiplication factors will be compulsory to apply from the second half of this year, as well as in 2007 and 2008, but during the first half of this year it is only recommended. For the next year (2006) the OÉT proposes a 4 to 5% gross rise in wages to the competitive sphere nationally in order to achieve a 3.5% real wage growth. Consensus was reached in that question too that a 4 to 5% gross rise in wages will be proposed to the competitive sphere in national level. In this topic the government side and the employers were ready to make a significant compromise as earlier they proposed a rise of 3.5 to 4% and 3.5 to 4.5% respectively. There was no consensus, however, about the question, how to guarantee minimum wage for skilled workers. Trade Unions stack to their idea of introducing a compulsory minimum wage in this category higher by a certain multiplier than the general minimum wage from the second half of 2006. Trade Unions would accept at the same time that in collective agreements in the sector it were possible to deviate downward from the minimum wage compulsory generally for skilled workers. However, the employer side considered it unfeasible to introduce this higher compulsory minimum wage for skilled workers with a general force from the second half of 2006. They only considered it possible for 2006 to propose companies the usage of such a higher minimum wage. Compulsory validity they accept only for 2007 and 2008. Trade Unions are ready to accept a lower multiplier for the wage of skilled workers at the beginning with the guarantee that in 2008 the multiplier would be 1.25. Both the government side and the social partners although agreed on that they propose to companies the use of a multiplier at least of 1.5 compared to minimum wage at employees with higher qualification, according to their possibilities.

Question marks

Ritz Tibor  2006.01.24. 06:28
MATISZ or CHAMBER? It is an exciting question now, at the end of the year 2005. Which of the two organisations truly represents the trade, professionalism and, which one is legitimate? Which one is that you should join or remain within? Which is to be avoided as much as possible? Or, is it possible, you should take part in both? As a founding member of MATISZ and its former chairman, I very much regret that the situation is so bad. Alas, up-to now the association/club has lost its credit completely. One example of several: In last week the suit MATISZ contra KonfirMATISZ could have ended, but Mr. Pozsonyi hasn’t appear before the court, as he couldn’t have proved actually that he was the chairman of the organisation (the electoral assembly record could not be found). Thus, the trial date has been postponed to March 2006. Perhaps, it could also be a tactical draw, stonewalling, as it would have been very inconvenient to admit that membership fees from MATISZ members were urgent to collect just the association be able to effect payment of justifiable damages (its order of magnitude is in the Millions, it is demanded by KonfirMATISZ KFT, and certainly it is not usage of names), which is still the score of ex-chairman Mr. Józsa being very good at denunciating and organising fake assemblies. Besides, it is only skimming on the cake that the MATISZ membership list contains 128 members in the MEMBERSHIP menu on the official home page of the association. Nobody should be misled by this, the record of the latest MATISZ assembly on November 3 2005 – visible on the same home page – recognised only 59 members (of which only about 20 are companies, the rest are employees, i.e. “straw men”, like the head of the Ethics Committee who is the employee of one of the two chairmen). Citation from the record: „It is determined from data of registered attendance that members in registration of the association are 59, attended 8. According to the Statutes, ‘the assembly called together repeatedly with the same agenda because of lack of decisiveness – even the same day – is decisive regardless of the number attending members’.” http://www.matisz.com It means MATISZ has less than half the number of members it alleges about itself, i.e. as a Hungarian proverb says „They catch up with a liar sooner than with a limping dog.” or, as an Englishman would say „The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.” Legitimacy cannot already be right word as it doesn’t make even 1% of actors on the market. Well, he who doesn’t want to be in the list of an association, which is misleading public opinion and, of which even the chairman himself is doubtful, had better call the Secretariat of MATISZ quickly and indicate it, as it is not by accident that this list has been so published (3620/5628-479). The fact that can make it easier to choose, certainly is that the Building Cleaner Trade Department of Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry has now – after a mere one year existence – more members (and they are all companies) than the whole MATISZ, let alone the national situation. Well, it is true that MATISZ is the only member of EFCI from Hungary still, but it is only a temporary situation.
