Dear manufacturers and dealers

Tibor Ritz  2007.07.15. 11:23
Dear manufacturers and dealers, This October we also organise our free university, as we did last year. On this happening we want to give you the review of the state of the market. This year on our happening the interest will be very high because the state professional and examinal assumption system changed and we are going to introduce a new interactive dictionary for the cleaning industry. The next cleaning free university is going to be held in the budapest Skill Center, at the same time with the autumn happenings of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The free university will lasts for 4 days, and you can get the chance to demonstrate the use of your products. This time we will not only give the chance of the presentation, but you can also participate in freetime activities. We hope that these activities will help you to find the most appropriate hungarian business partner. Last year 200 cleaners and confidental clerks signed up, and we hope that this year this number will grow with at least 15%. If you are interested in participating in our free university, please contact us as soon as possible to be able to organise the timetable. The cost of this happening is 100 euros and you should send us your portfolio of your products. If you have further questions do not hesitate to contact me on one each of the followings: Mobile: 0036 70 317 5641 e-mail: ritz.tibor@gportal.hu yours faithfully, Tibor Ritz

European Interactive Cleaning Dictionary

Tibor Ritz  2007.06.18. 12:57
We are getting nearer to completing the examination system matching the wholly new, already approved OKJ (national list of trainable trades) in large steps. The system has been uploaded in Hungarian and Italian languages with 300 questions each so far and its testing is under way. The latter language was needed, because the system of Cognitive Synthesis was nominated to the award for innovation by the trade jury of PULIRE 2007. In brackets: the award has not been given to us, but it is no bad start. However, the discussions in Verona opened us a new direction too, i.e. in case such a system is in preparation, it would be very important to create an interactive live online explanatory dictionary too. FEMIN (European Federation of Manufacturers and Traders of Cleaning Machines, Materials and Accessories) is in agreement with the start of such a project. EFCI (European Federation of Cleaning Industries) considers the project a great challenge, and promised their co-operation. Accordingly the project can start also officially on the conference and exhibition INTERCLEAN Central & Eastern Europe in Warsaw next week. From the beginning the new developing and evaluating system has been designed for function in several languages, thus with no great effort the interactive surface can be shaped already this week, through which anyone registered in the system can join this work. The design of the system will make it possible for anyone anywhere in the world to make an entry for a new technical word in any language. He can attribute an image and an explanation to it, as well as he can connect it to a word of the same meaning already in the system in another language. Another novelty in the system is that any entered word is actually also a forum at the same time, where other (registered) people can also write, if they think that the word can also be explained otherwise, or defined in a more complex way. This system will have a special importance, when in the new eLearning system the student gets the distance learning textbook for the questions he had given the wrong answer to, and also when statements occur where the technical word can be found, because these forums will be the footnotes for technical words. Thanks to this, the system is going to develop continuously as a living organism, and beside axioms also different points of view will appear. The more language somebody understands, the more such points of view he can learn. According to plans the dictionary will be constantly moderated by the proper organisations at national level. Of course, it is also a very important question, what kinds of translations will be worth doing from different national forums in the future. This will be one of the most important topic to be discussed with international participation also at the 2nd Cleaning Grauate Evening Classes within the frames of BKIK Kézműves Hét (Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Artisan Week) in October. According to current plans the examination and distance learning system on the Internet – with reference to tasks of the new OKJ – will start with about 5,000 questions at the beginning of September. To work with it will not need greater skill as for operating an ATM. Based on our experience and on requirements against the new system an average student having finished standard education, who has a minimum practice in cleaning, needs to fill in around 60 special tests for learning of the roughly 3,000 statements necessary for the about 90 tasks defined to acquire the profession. This is a program of around three months, if someone fills in a test every working day and reads the e-mail sent by the system to the student automatically and at once following the test. It means about an hour at maximum daily. Our current guess for the fee of the system over three months with 21 tests in a month (the fee for one test is €1) is 11,025,- forints (it is free of VAT in the case of OKJ contract for the course). I am back with news soon.

I report to you: a new book in he trade:

Tibor Ritz  2007.05.12. 06:47
„Cleaning Step-by-Step”. Authors: Bogdán Tibor, Csordás Tamás, Pataki László, Ritz Tibor, Sziklai Attila, editor: Vályi Gábor, published by PERFEKT, the biggest technical publisher in Hungary. I think the reader can keep such a book in his hands that, although it wouldn’t go deep into things, tries to reveal the most important questions on all areas and to determine also the methodology of recognition. This book is not only for would-be skilled cleaners, but for anybody who is near to professional cleaning. At last the first school-book has been created that is a handbook of trade too. We have chosen the method of cognitive synthesis to define the trade and for this reason, as well as due to our editor, actually there is very little interconnecting text int he book. Almost every sentence in the richly illustrated book (more than 300 figures, pictograms) is a statement that is very important in the trade. According to the principles of cognitive synthesis the book consists of three parts beside introduction: To Recognize, To Understand and To Apply. The system was made up according to trade and examination requirements of the new OKJ (national list of trainable trades), and we approached the trade content of 90-exercise from four directions. In the Introduction the new modular task-oriented trade and examination requirement system is explained, as well as the interpretation of examinations organized according to the new system, furthermore the training program making people prepared for them and the principles of methodology of cognitive synthesis. In the first part there are two chapters that demonstrate the two possible ways for recognition. In the first chapter exercises are shown broken down to statements by practical skill levels of the cognitive synthesis, while in the second chapter we display the model of technological discipline (TF) through effect mechanisms and golden steps. The second part dealing with understanding consists of 5 chapters explaining contaminations, covers, products, devices. And we collected all in a dictionary that has been left out of these. The third and at the same time last chapter of the book consists of 3 chapters and it is dealing basically with definition of techniques, by applying the methodology models introduced in the previous two chapters. The book is available in the important bookstores and, of course, also in Vaslemez utca, its price is € 15,- (3,600,- HUF). Have a good reading and application.

Spontaneous Learning,

or digitising existing works of the trade according to principles of the modular schooling and developing evaluation on the Internet by Cognitive Synthesis process. Furthermore, a standardised methodology for compiling new works of the trade. The World Knowledge project is a “knowledge supplying” human resource developing system of the infrastructural type, which has been brought to life, operated and continuously developed by the consortium UNIVKNOW (Universal Knowledge = World Knowledge) on the basic principles of Lundi, is in accordance with par. 6.2.2. of the international quality control standard ISO 9001: 2000, available on the Internet, and is based on digitised bibliography.

European Cleanliness Charter

Ritz Tibor  2007.02.11. 10:13
Another 8 days and something will be under way. Ideas, suggestions for their realization, as well as pledges to them to be raised during the four days of VIIIth CEM (CENTRAL EUROPEAN MEETING), i.e. during the four round tables, will be grouped by categories and for every group a separate guest book created that can be reached in the Internet – at the latest until the beginning of March – where it will be possible for a month to contribute or to complete. This is the reason why participation is so essential, to enable the round tables to record all important questions of concept and to try to find a real solution. On the website contributions can be made either in English or in Hungarian, these will be translated continuously, so as everyone can see through the creation process. Following the period of one or one and a half month, ideas will be summed up at the latest in the middle of April, and the European Cleanliness Charter will be edited in the form of a book, which, according to an optimist screenplay, can be approved by an common assembly to be kept as soon as in June. It can even be the ISSA/INTERCLEAN Central & Eastern Europe 2007 Exhibition in Poland at the end of June, or the CMS in Berlin in September. The document is planned to be made in multiple languages and to be sent to everyone interested.

THE THIRD LEG

Tibor Ritz  2007.02.03. 14:52
Now there are beginning the round table talks of the cleaning industry waited for so long. The VIIIth CEM (Central European Meeting) in the program for February of the EUROPEAN CLEANING COMPETENCE CENTRE seems already final. The 20th, 21st and 22nd of February will be those three days when the National Round Tables will be held, and the fourth day, February 23 will be a ceremonial international round table talk at the same time, where we can demonstrate to the professionals of Europe how we develop here with us in Hungary the cleaning industry. Assigned time for the round tables will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every day. If we are operative enough, the three-hour time will be sufficient to define problems. Of course, following that there will be enough opportunity for personal encounters and conversation with foreign and domestic professionals. All these will be topped by the IIIrd Cleaners’ Ball. The initiative of National Round Tables has been launched by EFCI actually and their role should be in essence to inspire cleaning professionals for the drawing up of their ideas at national level about what directions in development they think important. These can determine later the future work of national associations, can direct them on the right course. On the 22nd that will be the day dedicated to FM we will have as our guest EFCI General Manager Mr. Andreas Lill too. A special issue of that day will be the User Manual for the standard MSZ EN 13549: 2004 prepared recently by a joined project of BKIK-ÉPSZO (Building Cleaning Trade Department of the Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry) and HFMS (Hungarian Facility Management Society). Also on this day can become clear what tasks the Hungarian professionals could be able to undertake in the international work, as well as it can be spoken about where the initiative BEST VALUE of EFCI is at present on the European market that was started back in 2002. The first CEM in 2000 was a program that lay down the base of professional training in Hungary, and now, 7 years later, the VIIIth CEM will become a program that strives to bring the whole trade into motion and to show what kind of future can stand before us. Almost everything depends on us. The host of the first day will be, thank to state approval of cleaning trade and training, the ASSOCIATION FOR REPRESENTATION OF INTERESTS AND TRADE OF BUILDING CLEANERS to be founded in the next few days. This is a brand new civil initiative that intends to put into words and represent the interests of already qualified cleaners first of all (about its activities we are going to report separately). The main topics: the agreement about wage tariffs in the branch as well as training and career planning. The second day devoted to employers and company managers will be organised under the sponsoring of the Building Cleaning Trade Department of the Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BKIK ÉPSZO). That will be a very complex day, it is possible that the given three hours will not suffice, we will see. Main topics: market regulation, market protection, wage tariffs, training and quality measurement. The most illustrious guest that day will be BKIK Education Co. director Ildikó Takács. It has a special meaning first of all, because in the professional training system being under change the role of the Chamber is expected to become more important. This will be the day, during which it will be necessary to talk about the critically worsening situation that is to come under scope the next day, i.e. the FM day, organised jointly with HFMS. Its main topics: quality measurement of cleaning services and invitation system for services. All cleaning professionals are welcome on the last and at the same time closing day, that time we will report to the attending foreign professionals about questions formulated during the previous three days and about achievements. A special guest of the day will be director of ISSA Europe Mr. Mark Armitage. Lectures: Gábor Vályi: New trade and examination requirements in cleaning, a new central training program, a new cleaning school-book; Tibor Ritz: The Cognitive Synthesis and the new system for examination and e-learning; József Czerny: The new User Manual of MSZ EN 13549: 2004. Aim of the four-day event is to enable us to define jobs to be done as precisely as possible. All ideas raised and projects brought forward will be collected in a publication and it will be sent to the relevant committees of EFCI, FIDEN and ISSA, as well as to every Central and Eastern European associations. Accordingly at the trade forums of fairs for the cleaning technology, e.g. in Poland in June and in Berlin in September, the tasks will be further thought over, and perhaps their realisation can come nearer. The international co-operation can have a great role in things going better also on national level. The change of experiences can be very useful. Everyone can learn from others.

8th CEM (Central European Meeting) between 20th and 23rd February 2007 (THE THIRD LEG)

Ritz Tibor  2007.01.08. 06:27
Seven years have passed since the staging of the first CEM. In 2000 we were full of hope, because the training course for semi-skilled people known as “Cleaning machine operator” back then has already been sponsored in 100 per cent by the Budapest Labour Centre. A great success of the first meeting in the freshly reopened Central Coffee House was that the next May we could arrange our very first “INTERNATIONAL BUILDING CLEANERS EXAMINATION” in the presence of Wolfgang Kraus from FIDEN and Dorota Dalkowska from PCA. The training course before that exam has been a 40-hour one and it was carried out in a super intensive way and full house for 96 persons. The following period up to 2005 has been very productive, and at that time there began the professional training approved by the state, in the frame of which 1500 professionals have taken part in courses of KonfirMATISZ alone, and it laid down the bases for professional thinking simultaneously, which is the base of today’s training in the trade. It is clear, as all courses where actually cleaners are trained today are lectured by professionals who laid down the bases of their theoretical knowledge in this school. And what is even more important is that a core has been formed quickly, for whose members it has become clear that that knowledge is far from enough, and they went on learning in courses for FOREMEN and MASTERS OF CLEANING. Today, i.e. in 2007, although it is not a round anniversary of that program, we consider time ripe for drawing a line and demonstrate to the world where we are at present. It goes without saying, we have to make an account not only for the world, but for ourselves too. Also here in Hungary there are such who have not even the faintest idea about what is a ready, available and actually usable know-how. And also there are already different target group categories. Taking into consideration all this, the 8th CEM (CENTRAL EUROPEAN MEETING) will be – unusually – a 4-day program.
